A retrospective evaluation of a knee rehabilitation class following evidence-based modifications

Knee pain is a common musculoskeletal disorder and contributes large socio-economic burden to health systems around the world. The traditional strategy manage knee has been exercise. However, there growing recognition include coping self-management educational strategies improve psychosocial outcomes. Purpose: purpose of this evaluation was compare effectiveness revised rehabilitation class that incorporated an evidence-based component (2021-22) previous did not (2020–21) by comparing pre-class post-class outcome measurement scores. Method: A retrospective classes at NHS Trust in North London, United Kingdom conducted using Injury Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) Lower Extremity Functional Scale (LEFS) from two cohorts participants 2020-21 2021-22. Data were analysed separately then compared. Satisfaction scores captured questionnaire which completed end each class. Statistical Software for Excel (XLSTAT) package. Results: total 46 52 patients attended 2021-22 respectively. Both showed significant improvements KOOS LEFS when separately, but no difference had mean satisfaction score 87.2%, 91.7%. Conclusion: addition incorporating improvement cannot be considered superior consisted exercise only.
